The project involves creating postage stamps designed to educate and raise awareness about the East LA Walks, a student-led protest. The aim is to highlight the cultural significance of the movement and honor the students' courageous efforts.

The designs will highlight the student-led nature of the East LA walkouts, a protest in which students demanded equitable education, including college prep and culturally relevant courses. This movement wasn’t just about academic reform but also about Chicano pride, which we’ll reflect through the visual language of activist art from the 1960s.
Ideation
These stamps will be bold, expressive style of Chicano muralists and the raw, handmade quality of protest signage crafted during pivotal activist movements.
